Nine Modern References Found in “Coraline”

The fictional character Percy Jackson has an obsession with everything blue. Apparently, so does Mr. Jones.

Number Two

Towards the end of the movie, there is a scene in the theater where Coraline finds a giant candy-shaped bag with two actresses inside. It looks almost exactly like this Emoji icon:

Number Three

At one point in the movie, Coraline asks the Other Wybie if it hurt when the Other Mother muted him. This is what comes to my crazy, messed-up mind:

This scene looks exactly like Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night to me, with the exception of golden angels.

Notice all of the clothes are gray. Is it just me, or does Coraline shop at Abnegation?

Look at how thin the Other Mother is; she looks exactly like Barbie. Barbie’s not the only guilty one anymore.
